Volunteer with us

Pull up a chair. We're building a crew to help make the show.

The Intersection is a panel talk show for community television, looking at everyday issues through an intersectional lens. We want people who can lend a skill, and people who just believe in what we're making.

At this stage, all roles are unpaid. We hope to pay everyone involved as soon as we can. In the meantime, you'll get a credit on the show and real production experience.

What it looks like

Time

Around two hours a week

That's a guide. Some weeks more, some weeks less, and you can give as much as you like.

Where

From anywhere

Most roles work online. Studio days are in Naarm (Melbourne), if you want to come along.

Who

Skills, or the drive to learn

We're looking for people who get what the show is about. If you bring a skill, great. If there's something you want to learn, we'll support the right people to build it. People from communities that don't often see themselves on screen are especially welcome.

Where you could help

Tick any. For each one, tell us whether you've done it before or you'd like to give it a go and learn. Both are welcome.

Dot points are fine. What you can do, what you'd like to learn, why the show appeals.
However you'd put it. How it shows up in your life or your work, or why it matters to you. No right answer, and no academic language needed.
A portfolio, showreel, website, LinkedIn or socials. Anything that shows what you do.
A voice memo, a video, a CV, or anything you'd rather send than type. One file, up to 8 MB.

What happens next

  1. We read every application

We're a small team making the show alongside everything else in our lives, so we can't always reply to everyone personally. We'll get back to as many people as we can.

  2. If we can take you on, we'll set up a chat

It's a chance for you to ask us anything too.

  3. We work out the fit together

We talk about what you'd like to do and what the show needs right now, so it works for both of us.
